Abstract

This paper introduces Soma–Noēsis Mechanics (SN) — a comprehensive theoretical framework that formalizes consciousness as a measurable fixed‐point of coherence between soma (the biological/energetic domain) and noēsis (the informational/symbolic domain). Grounded in operator theory, Hilbert‐space formalism, and field dynamics, SN defines a bounded linear operator N:Hs⊕Hn → Hs⊕Hn\mathcal{N}:\mathcal{H}_s\oplus\mathcal{H}_n \;\to\; \mathcal{H}_s\oplus\mathcal{H}_nN:Hs⊕Hn→Hs⊕Hn whose fixed points correspond to conscious awareness states when the coherence functionalC(z)\mathcal{C}(z)C(z) exceeds a critical threshold Θ\ThetaΘ. Theoretical results include existence, uniqueness, Lyapunov‐stability and Noether‐style invariance theorems, thereby providing a rigorous mathematical foundation for awareness. SN subsumes more than three hundred existing theories of consciousness — including Integrated Information Theory (IIT), Global Neuronal Workspace (GNW), Predictive Coding, Orch‐OR, and dual‐aspect monism — by interpreting them as limiting cases of coherence. Furthermore, it links the archetype of number (in the sense of C.G. Jung and W. Pauli) with the eigenvalue spectrum of the coherence operator, thereby merging psychology, symbolic meaning and physics. The deposit includes: Full LaTeX source and compiled PDF version of the manuscript. Appendices with mathematical proofs (Appendix A), physical and information‐theoretic foundations (Appendix B), and empirical & simulation protocols (Appendix C). Data availability and open‐science statements. The theory is falsifiable: it predicts measurable coherence thresholds, spectral quantisation (archetypal eigenvalues) and conservation of a coherence charge in neural and cross‐domain systems.
