Abstract

This repository contains all source files associated with the Real-Time Acidification Monitoring through Sofar Spotter and SAMI-pH Integration Project. The Parsing Code (Python) connects to the Sofar API, downloads Spotter and SAMI-pH data streams, and converts raw SAMI-pH strings into processed values. The User Code (C++) is compiled into the device firmware and defines the custom behaviors of the DevKit, including sensor interaction, onboard processing, and Bristlemouth network communication. The MAUI Weight Design provides CAD files illustrating the mooring system construction; the starboard mounts were CNC-machined in-house, and the lead weights were custom-molded by a local welding company. The Database Code includes MySQL schema definitions for seven relational tables used to organize Sofar API data alongside deployment-specific site and timing metadata. The Visualization Code (R/Shiny) offers an interactive dashboard template for exploring SAMI-pH and Spotter buoy time-series data. Finally, the ROAM Build Manual provides detailed build instructions for the monitoring system with complete step-by-step procedures.
