Abstract

This paper presents Version 2 (Revised) of Root & Source Theory: A systems-level model of energy, biology, and consciousness. The revision clarifies the theory’s structural scope, domain boundaries, and alignment with the SACCADE framework, while preserving the original claims and conclusions. Root & Source Theory is framed as a constraint-based model of biological energy regulation and signal propagation, grounded in human physiology and early historical descriptions found in the Hermetica. In contrast to modern mystical or symbolic interpretations, the terminology “root” and “source” is treated here as strictly structural: referring to biological constraint layers and signal pathways within a single living energy system, not to separate or metaphysical energies. This revised formulation strengthens the paper’s scientific defensibility by: Explicitly defining autonomous homeostasis as the admissibility condition for biological systems and consciousness Clarifying the relationship between early Hermetic principles, early physics, and domain-limited biological constraints Aligning the theory formally with the SACCADE invariant sequence (Signal → Arrival → Context → Constraint → Adaptation → Distribution → Evolution) Distinguishing between biological energy systems and non-biological symbolic or computational systems Consciousness is treated as an emergent function of constrained biological energy regulation, dependent on viable physiological pathways, metabolic support, and enforced limits. The paper addresses common edge cases—including fetal neural activity, near-death experiences, and artificial intelligence—using structural rather than metaphysical reasoning. Version 2 does not introduce new claims but refines terminology, scope, and structural alignment to ensure the paper stands independently as a scientifically constrained model of biological energy systems and consciousness.
