Abstract

In silico identification of putative satDNAs in short reads (SRR15328383, SRR26671777) was performed using RepeatExplorer2 and TAREAN pipelines [Novák et al. 2013; Novák et al. 2017] implemented in the Galaxy platform [Afgan et al. 2016]. For in silico identification of putative satDNA in long reads we used the publicly available genome data for C. caretta (GCF_023653815.1 and GCA_965140235.1). The analysis was performed using TideCluster (version 1.6) implemented in the Galaxy platform [Novák et al. 2017; Gao et al. 2019; Novák et al. 2025] with default parameters. SatDNAs sequences exhibiting more than 90% query coverage and percentage identity were grouped into distinct satDNA families; thus, eighteen satDNA families were identified. Following nomenclature suggested by Ruiz-Ruano et al. (2016) we numbered the satDNA in order of decreasing abundance in GCA_965140235.1 defined with RepeatMasker [Smit et al. 2015].
