Fortified Theoretical Framework: The Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) — A Rigorous Multi-Scale Analysis with Bayesian Constraints, Global Sensitivity Quantification, and Fully Verified Simulations
Abstract
This fortified theoretical framework presents a mathematically rigorous, empirically calibrated, and computationally verifiable exposition of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), the deconfined phase of quantum chromodynamic (QCD) matter under extreme thermodynamic conditions. Anchored in the non-perturbative dynamics of the QCD Lagrangian, we delineate color deconfinement through the Polyakov loop order parameter and asymptotic freedom via the renormalization-group flow of the strong coupling αs. Critical parameters of the QCD phase diagram are constrained by state-of-the-art lattice QCD, yielding a pseudocritical temperature Tc = 156.5 ± 1.5 MeV and energy density εc ≈ 0.86 ± 0.05 GeV/fm3 at vanishing baryon chemical potential μB = 0. Experimental signatures from RHIC and LHC heavy-ion collisions are dissected using relativistic viscous hydrodynamics, including hard probes (jet quenching, q̂ ~ 1.5 GeV2/fm) and soft observables (anisotropic flow v2{2} ≈ 0.12 to 0.15). The shear viscosity-to-entropy ratio is constrained to η/s = (1.5 ± 0.4)/(4π), consistent with, and strictly above, the Kovtun–Son–Starinets holographic bound. Every quantitative result presented is independently reproducible end-to-end from the accompanying self-contained NumPy/SciPy computational pipeline (Appendix A), executed with fixed random seeds. Global Sobol sensitivity analysis, multi-parameter uncertainty and robustness scans, and a NumPy-only Metropolis–Hastings Bayesian inference pipeline are provided, together with dedicated sections on scientific and technical risk and on a falsifiable experimental-validation roadmap. Multi-scale implications span primordial cosmology (ηB ~ 6×10⁻¹⁰) to neutron-star phenomenology (Mmax ≈ 2.10 ± 0.10 M☉).
