Internalization Theory of Phenomenal Ownership and Self-Referential Integration: A Review and Testable Framework for Access-Ownership Dissociations
Abstract
This record archives the manuscript, supplementary information, figures, and reproducibility materials for the Internalization framework of phenomenal ownership and self-referential integration. The framework argues that access, reportability, prediction, task competence, and generic integration are not sufficient by themselves to explain why an experience is lived as mine. It proposes a four-stage access-ownership architecture: salience detection, affective valuation, contextual-personal assessment, and Stage 4 self-referential integration through an mPFC-PCC-centered ownership mechanism. The record includes manuscript PDFs, figure materials, supplementary information, and nine data-fit ZIP packages. These ZIP files provide transparent evidence-mapping, scoring, figures, scripts, outputs, and a short guide explaining how to inspect and test the analyses. The materials are intended as a reproducible theoretical and evidence-integration package, not as a new participant-level experimental dataset.
