The Holographic Ledger
Abstract
The current cosmological standard model (LambdaCDM) faces a significant accounting discrepancy: approximately 95% of the universe's energy content (Dark Matter, Dark Energy) remains physically unaccounted for. This paper proposes a paradigm shift from particle hunting to a forensic audit of spacetime itself. Based on Landauer's principle, which assigns a minimum energy cost to information processing (E >= k_B T ln 2), we introduce the "Holographic Ledger" framework. We postulate that physical reality is not a passive container but the result of an active information-commitment process. In this model, spacetime acts as a dynamic storage membrane ("The Boundary") that only deforms—creating gravity and mass— under sufficient informational pressure. Consequently, "Dark" sectors are interpreted not as missing particles, but as unbooked informational potential. We propose a falsifiable table-top experiment, IRIS-511, to detect the thermodynamic signature of information erasure (Far-Infrared photons) during electron-positron annihilation. v2.0 April 2026 – claims scoped, speculative language labelled, references updated.
