Abstract

Complete Framework with Statistical Mechanics, Sheaf-Theoretic, Renormalization Group, Spectral Geometry, and Information Geometry Branches This document presents a complete geometric field theory for semantic coherence in transformer-based language models. The framework establishes that meaning propagation in neural architectures obeys field equations analogous to those governing physical systems, where curvature constraints determine the boundaries of coherent reasoning. The theory unifies several phenomena previously treated as unrelated: context window limitations arise from holonomy accumulation on the semantic manifold; attention head behavior reflects parallel transport of meaning vectors; and reasoning failures correspond to geodesic deviation under excessive curvature. Parent Framework (89 Results) The original reference contains 89 mathematical results (theorems, lemmas, corollaries, and propositions) with explicit dependency structure, organized into foundational definitions, energy functionals, dynamics, and system-level guarantees. Key constructs include the Davis field equations for semantic evolution, curvature-based validity bounds, holonomy budget constraints, and harmonization theorems connecting non-deterministic processes to deterministic observables. Statistical Mechanics Branch — Branch VI (44 New Results) The Statistical Mechanics Branch extends the parent framework via the identification: Framework Quantity Statistical Mechanics Analog Tolerance budget $\tau$ Temperature $T$ Davis energy functional $E[\gamma]$ Hamiltonian $H$ Completion paths $\gamma$ Microstates This yields a well-defined partition function $Z(\beta)$ with standard ensemble derivatives, from which the branch derives: Free energy variational principle and Maxwell relations. Specific heat divergence and critical exponents at the completion transition. Correlation length and effective context window scaling. Equation of state with critical crossover. Ehrenfest relations with Prigogine–Defay consistency for the second-order transition at $m = m^*$. Extensions to Byzantine fault tolerance, thermal certified radii, and cache phase transitions. All scaling exponents are dimensionless under an explicit thermodynamic unit convention. First-order transitions (van der Waals, cache) are cleanly separated from the second-order completion transition. Sheaf-Theoretic Extension — Branch VII (30 New Results) Running total: 163 results (89 parent + 44 statistical mechanics + 30 sheaf-theoretic) The branch reformulates completion problems as sheaf extension problems on the Davis manifold. Constraint patches form an open cover, local completions define a presheaf, and global completion corresponds to the existence of a global section. Completion failure is classified by a Čech cohomology obstruction class. Framework Quantity Sheaf-Theoretic Analog Constraint patches ${R_c}$ Open cover $\mathcal{U}$ of the Davis manifold $M$ Local completions Sections of the completion presheaf $\mathcal{F}$ Global completion Global section of $\mathcal{F}$ Completion failure Nonvanishing obstruction class $\delta(b) \in \check{H}^1(M, \mathcal{F}_{\mathrm{ext}})$ The branch contains 1 definition, 2 theorems, and 27 conjectures organized in three tiers: Foundational spine (SH1–SH8, 8 results). The completion presheaf and Čech complex (SH1–SH2, with SH2 proved as a theorem). The Cohomological Completion Criterion (SH3, proved as a theorem): boundary data extends to a global completion if and only if its image under the connecting homomorphism vanishes — $\delta(b) = 0 \in \check{H}^1(M, \mathcal{F}_{\mathrm{ext}})$. The Sudoku Principle as vanishing cohomology (SH4). Holonomy–cocycle equivalence with explicit Baker–Campbell–Hausdorff error control and global summability over nerve loops (SH5). Cache invalidation as sheaf restriction failure (X8). Persistent homology and the difficulty spectrum (X9). Renormalization as derived pushforward (X10). Linearization regime. A global regime convention separates exact non-abelian $\mathrm{GL}(W)$-valued cocycles from linearized additive $\mathfrak{gl}(W)$-valued cocycles. All Euler characteristic, Laplacian, trace, duality, and index-theoretic results operate in the linearized regime. Baker–Campbell–Hausdorff analytic control provides explicit convergence radius ($|\alpha| < (\log 2)/L$ for nerve diameter $L$) with loop-length-dependent error bounds. Audit history. 3 internal audit rounds + 7 independent external mathematical reviews. Final 3 consecutive reviews: zero critical errors. Total corrections: 50+, including repair of the central obstruction construction (coboundary → connecting homomorphism) and multiplicative/additive cocycle separation. Renormalization Group Branch — Branch VIII (25 New Results) Running total: 188 results (89 + 44 + 30 + 25) The branch establishes that the three Davis trichotomy regimes (determined, critical, underdetermined) are the three fixed points of a renormalization group flow on completion problems. Block-spin coarse-graining on the constraint nerve induces a flow on the trichotomy parameter $\Gamma$, the critical line $\Gamma = 1$ is an unstable RG fixed manifold, and the critical exponents of Branch VI are eigenvalues of the linearized RG transformation at the critical point. Scale-dependent completion capacity (Y3). Residual stream as RG trajectory (Y4). Obstruction persistence under RG (Y5). Phase diagram flow lines (Y8). Finite-size scaling (Y9). Semantic depth as RG scale (Y10). Key structural features. The coarsened Čech Laplacian $\Delta_p^{(\ell)}$ is defined as the compression $P_\ell^\dagger \Delta_p P_\ell$ (not the bare graph Laplacian of the coarsened nerve), with inherited inner product on all Čech degrees and edge-multiplicity weighting. This distinction is essential for the $C$-theorem: the compression preserves the nested-subspace structure required by Cauchy interlace, while the bare coarsened Laplacian does not
