SEIB-Explorer Version 3.22
Abstract
**General** This repository provides the executable distribution, example datasets, reproducibility-test materials, and supporting documentation for SEIB-Explorer, a run-and-view environment that integrates the individual-based Dynamic Global Vegetation Model (SEIB-DGVM) with interactive three-dimensional visualization and lightweight analysis. SEIB-Explorer is designed to reduce the technical and cognitive effort required to work with DGVMs. It bundles the compiled SEIB-DGVM model core with a point-and-click graphical user interface, example datasets, and documentation, allowing users to run site-level simulations and inspect forest structural dynamics, carbon and water fluxes, and related variables through an interactive "virtual stand" view and time-series panels. This Zenodo record accompanies the manuscript:Sato H. (submitted) SEIB-Explorer: An Integrated Run-and-View Environment for Dynamic Vegetation Modeling. For additional information on SEIB-DGVM, see:https://seib-dgvm.com/ **Contents** Files* SEIB-Explorer2.12_Installer.exe - Installer for SEIB-Explorer Version 2.12 (Microsoft Windows 11, 64-bit)* SEIB-Explorer-Manual_En.pdf - User manual covering system requirements, installation, input-data preparation and formats, model configuration, simulation execution, output interpretation, example datasets, and troubleshooting* QuickStart_SEIB-Explorer.pdf - Quick start guide for first-time users* History_of_SEIB-Explorer.txt - Version history of SEIB-Explorer* LICENSE.txt - License terms and conditions of use* seib_code321.zip - Source code of standalone SEIB-DGVM Version 3.21, used to generate the example datasets* seib_code322.zip - Source code of standalone SEIB-DGVM Version 3.22, used for the reproducibility test Folders* Sample_for_SEIB_Explorer/ - Example simulations for three contrasting forest sites (Nakagawa, Pasoh, and Spasskaya Pad). Each site folder contains the visualization-output file, the meteorological forcing data, the parameter file, and the site-specific start_point.f90 file required to regenerate the output. These datasets correspond to the outputs presented in the accompanying manuscript.* ReproducibilityTest/ - Materials used to verify the numerical consistency between simulations executed within SEIB-Explorer and the standalone SEIB-DGVM. For each of the three sites, the folder provides the paired visualization-output files from the two workflows, together with the forcing data, parameter file, site-specific start_point.f90 file, and a screenshot of the SEIB-Explorer run settings. Each folder contains a README file describing its contents, the simulation conditions, and the procedure required to regenerate the archived outputs. **Intended use** SEIB-Explorer is intended to support: * Exploratory experiments with SEIB-DGVM at single sites* Visualization of individual-based forest dynamics and plant functional types* Teaching, outreach, and public communication of vegetation-climate interactions* Transparent sharing of model setups and outputs through plain-text input and output files **System requirements** * Microsoft Windows 11 (64-bit)* x86-64 compatible processor* DirectX 11-compatible graphics* Display resolution of 1366 x 768 or higher recommended* Approximately 500 MB of available storage A Fortran compiler is not required to run SEIB-Explorer; it is needed only if users wish to modify and rebuild the bundled SEIB-DGVM model core. **Citation** Please cite this Zenodo record when using SEIB-Explorer in publications, presentations, exhibitions, or derivative works, and cite the associated article once it becomes available.
