Abstract

This repository accompanies the paper Thermal plume signals extend farther than chemical signals along mid-ocean ridgesby Sibiao Liu, Fan Zhang, Lars H. Rüpke, Rene Gassmöller, Jason P. Morgan, Lei Zhao, Tao Zhang, Ming Chen, Yiming Luo, Jian Lin It contains the ASPECT code and model input files. Three representative input files for ASPECT are located in the INPUTS folder and include: on-axis.prm. Model configuration for the on-axis plume-ridge interaction mode, with the plume centred directly beneath the ridge axis. on-axis_k1e-7.prm. Same as on-axis case, except the thermal diffusivity is reduced to 1e-7 m2/s, and no melting and other thermal processes. off-axis_300km.prm. Off-axis configuration, with the plume located 300km from the ridge axis.
