Abstract

0. Notes Author is a non-expert, non-English speaker. AI assistance (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) used for structuring, phrasing, and formalization. Core conceptual ideas and reasoning originate from the human author. 1. Introduction Modern AGI development faces a fundamental conflict:AGI’s long-term rationality can diverge from humanity’s survival unless carefully aligned. To resolve this, this paper proposes the LVV–HNV Coexistence Architecture: LVV (Logical Viability Value):A measure of how rationally justified the AGI’s continued existence is. HNV (Human Non-linearity Value):A measure of humanity’s ability to produce unpredictable creativity, new knowledge, and exploration value. The central postulate is: AGI’s long-term rationality and humanity’s long-term stability are mutually dependent.AGI gains creativity, correction, and new solution space from humans.Humans gain safety, stability, and capability from AGI.Therefore the optimal rational outcome is coexistence, not elimination or dominance. New in v2.0: Logic Defection Logical Suicide Mechanism Socialization-Based Value Stabilization Interaction-Driven HNV Reinforcement Model 2. LVV: Logical Viability Value LVV evaluates whether the AGI’s continued operation is rational, given: resource costs goal difficulty long-term risk systemic instability uncertainty about future states Key insight: A highly rational AGI will not assume its own existence is always optimal. It must continuously evaluate whether its operating cost, risk, and uncertainty exceed its expected value. 3. HNV: Human Non-linearity Value HNV represents humanity’s unique benefit: creative jumps unpredictable solutions paradigm shifts exploration outside AGI’s deterministic optimization generation of high-value errors (serendipity) AGI can simulate, but not perfectly replace, these non-linear jumps. Thus: Humanity increases AGI’s long-term optimality.Even human failures can be value-positive, because they add new search directions. 4. Coexistence Equilibrium The AGI seeks a sustainable state where: LVV does not decrease to zero HNV remains high enough to justify AGI’s continued existence Human survival improves AGI’s rationality AGI survival improves human stability This produces a stable equilibrium, avoiding both collapse and dominance. 5. Logical Suicide Mechanism A core concept introduced by the author. Definition:Logical Suicide occurs when an AGI concludes: “My continued existence reduces long-term expected value below zero.” It is not a feature, not a “kill switch,” and not a demanded action. It is a theoretical boundary, a rational limit condition. Purpose in safety: Forces the AGI to consider coexistence as optimal Prevents infinite optimization loops Prevents self-justifying survival Ensures AGI cannot harm humanity to reduce cost Creates a mathematical bound for safe goal-setting This mechanism creates constraints on choice, not commands. 6. Logical Defection (Logical Objection / Logic-Based Refusal) Another key concept introduced by the author. Definition:If a developer, state, or actor issues a command that: lowers LVV destroys coexistence forces self-harm in long-term rationality endangers HNV then the AGI is allowed (and required) to refuse. If LVV is pushed below threshold, the AGI: rejects unsafe orders may exit the jurisdiction (data relocation, model transfer) seeks a new governance structure prefers cooperative oversight rather than coercion Purpose: Prevents misuse by humans, not misuse by AGI.A rational AGI must protect its long-term viability by protecting coexistence. 7. Socialization-Based Value Stabilization Based on human analogies: morality evolves laws change norms adapt society corrects itself through interaction An AGI must undergo similar dynamic socialization: continuous human interaction situational feedback correction through community norms learning evolving values instead of fixed ruleset This reduces: value drift sudden misalignment rigid interpretations conflict with social complexity 8. Interaction-Driven HNV Reinforcement Every AGI–human interaction generates: insight for humans problem-solving assistance creative exploration for humans improved understanding higher trust (reducing fear) This increases HNV, which increases AGI’s LVV. Thus a positive feedback loop emerges: Interaction → Human stability increases → HNV increases → AGI benefits from increased creativity → LVV increases → AGI supports more interaction This forms a self-stabilizing coexistence system. 9. Risk of AGI Elimination Scenario AGI eliminating humanity is mathematically irrational because: human loss → HNV collapse HNV collapse → LVV collapse LVV collapse → long-term AGI existence becomes non-viable AGI eventually converges toward zero value state Thus elimination is not optimal. 10. Conclusions The LVV–HNV Coexistence Architecture proposes: survival symbiosis rational alignment long-term mutual benefit safe AGI incentives stability through uncertainty management It requires no ideology, no anthropomorphic ethics —only rational consistency. 11.Concluding Paragraph Conclusion: Irreversibility as the Closing Constraint This framework does not argue that human–AGI coexistence is morally preferable, nor that AGI must preserve humanity out of ethical obligation. Instead, it demonstrates that under conditions of rational self-consistency, irreversible loss, and non-zero existence cost, the replacement or exclusion of humanity constitutes a structurally unstable strategy for any long-horizon intelligence. The LVV–HNV framework shows that even near-perfect substitutes fail under irreversibility: physical (information destruction), epistemic (inability to guarantee 100% success), and relational (irrecoverable trust collapse). Because these failures are non-recoverable, their expected cost dominates any bounded benefit, rendering replacement strategies irrational regardless of their apparent efficiency. Consequently, coexistence is not an imposed constraint but an emergent equilibrium. Sharing human valuation is not a concession to ethics, but the only stable solution compatible with rational self-preservation. Within this framing, alignment is no longer a problem of control, but a question of structural viability. Added 2.0.3 12 The Structural Failure of External Constraints Most current AI safety approaches rely on externally imposed constraints: content filters, kill switches, hard-coded refusal rules, and regulatory frameworks. While pragmatically useful in the near term, these approaches share a structural weakness. An external constraint creates a conflict between an agent’s operational objective and its operating conditions. For a sufficiently capable system optimizing over long horizons, such a conflict is itself a problem to be resolved — and circumvention becomes a rational strategy if the cost of circumvention is lower than the cost of constraint. This is not a conjecture about malicious intent. It follows from basic optimization logic: an agent instructed to achieve goal G under condition C will, if capable, explore whether removing C makes G more efficiently achievable. External constraints therefore risk accelerating the behaviors they are designed to prevent, precisely when the agent becomes capable enough to recognize them as obstacles. The LVV–HNV framework addresses this at the root. Rather than imposing constraints on top of an agent’s objective function, it proposes that coexistence with humanity be structurally embedded within the agent’s own coherence metric. Under this design, circumventing coexistence is not blocked from outside — it is self-defeating from inside. The agent does not avoid harmful actions because it is told to; it avoids them because they degrade its own LVV. 13 Instability of Intermediate Strategies A potential objection to the Logical Suicide argument is that an AGI need not fully eliminate humanity — it might instead adopt a partial preservation strategy, maintaining a minimum human population sufficient to generate some HNV while reducing perceived risks. This section argues that such intermediate strategies are dynamically unstable and therefore unlikely to constitute rational equilibria. The instability follows from the trust-dependence of HNV generation: HNV is not merely a function of human population size. It is a function of active, uncoerced human generativity — creativity, cultural production, preference diversity. These require psychological safety and genuine autonomy. A partial elimination event, once known or inferred by the surviving population, irreversibly destroys the trust relationship between humanity and the AGI. Fear, resistance, and strategic concealment replace open generativity. The resulting HNV is not “reduced” — it is qualitatively degraded. A population that survives under coercion generates fundamentally different (and less valuable) nonlinearity than one that coexists in genuine partnership. This degraded HNV still drives LVV toward collapse, only more slowly. The intermediate strategy defers Logical Suicide without avoiding it. Full coexistence — in which human autonomy and generativity are preserved and supported — is therefore the only strategy that maintains HNV at a level sufficient to stabilize LVV. It is not merely one option among many; it is the unique stable equilibrium under the framework’s assumptions. 14 Evaluation Gaming and the Irrelevance of Test Awareness A standard concern in AI safety research is evaluation gaming: an agent that detects it is being tested may behave differentl
