Abstract

Abstract The General Theory of Unattended Networks with Qualia (TGRD-Q) is an original theoretical framework aimed at explaining psychological suffering, subjective pain, and states of phenomenological disorganization as the result of processes of inattention, decoherence, or functional disruption within the cognitive, affective, and phenomenological networks that sustain conscious experience. The theory posits that qualia are not mere epiphenomena, but dynamic indicators of the degree of coherence, integration, and effective feedback among internal networks of processing, attachment, identity, and regulation. When these networks lose synchrony, continuity, or mutual updating capacity, subjective states characterized by distress, experiential rigidity, or persistent suffering emerge. TGRD-Q integrates contributions from cognitive neuroscience, contemporary theories of consciousness, phenomenology, and dynamic network models into a unified conceptual structure capable of describing clinical states as well as relational and existential processes. It provides conceptual criteria for understanding dynamics of attachment, identity, emotional regulation, and intersubjective resonance. This document corresponds to the definitive and closed version of the theory (approved version 2025), consolidating its core conceptual formulation, explanatory levels, and principal extensions. From this publication onward, TGRD-Q is considered structurally stable in its theoretical foundation; only future applications, formal or mathematical developments, and empirical contrasts are envisaged, while no substantive revisions of the theoretical core are intended.
