Abstract

Standard economic models treat money as a social construct independent of physical laws. This paper proposes a unified Thermodynamic Theory of Value, identifying the Joule Standard (J ≈ 2.5) as the universal Hausdorff dimension governing growth-mediated coordination in 3D space. By integrating Eric Chaisson’s Energy Rate Density (Φm) with historical economic data, we demonstrate a strict log-linear trajectory (R^2 > 0.999) spanning geological, biological, and economic substrates. We argue that this regression line is the visible trace of the Second Law of Thermodynamics maximizing entropy production through an Open Selection loop. By identifying the universal coordination constant (J ≈ 2.5) as the reciprocal of the von Kármán constant (1/κ ≈ 2.5), we provide a variational proof that the emergence of "Intelligence"—from biological coding to monetary protocols—is a non-arbitrary phase transition in information flux. We demonstrate that information “ignites” as a mechanistic necessity when the entropy cost of turbulent drag (systemic ignorance) exceeds the entropy cost of informational regulation (bits). Treating civilizational evolution as a high-Reynolds-number flow, we show that as a system’s Structural Power (Ω) increases, its Information Granularity must refine to prevent a catastrophic rise in Systemic Viscosity ($\eta$). This model predicts that the current “Monetary Era” is a finite phase transition concluding in ~2115, when the Earth-system reaches its terminal 2.5-D efficiency ceiling—a thermodynamic boundary mandated by the physics of flow. This iteration elevates the framework to substrate-independent physical law by treating all sustained dissipative flux as information flux—the ontological primitive of irreversible phase-space erasure. The refined logarithmic overlap law incorporates dynamic scaling offset with Hausdorff dimensionality (DH ≈ 2.5) stabilizing self-similarity. The ultimate vertical asymptote (Φm → ∞) signals a transition from expansive growth to internal predictive refinement.
