Abstract

Life on Earth is sustained by complex interactions between organisms and their environment. These biotic interactions can be captured in datasets and published digitally. We present a review and archiving process for such an openly accessible digital interactions dataset of known origin and discuss its outcome. The dataset under review, named globalbioticinteractions/fungaltraits, has fingerprint hash://md5/3d1deb1394360f06cebca96cf7d0a3a4, is 660MiB in size and contains 34,958 interactions with 4 unique types of associations (e.g., hasHost) between 26,163 primary taxa (e.g., Russula) and 2,389 associated taxa (e.g., Glycine max). This report includes detailed summaries of interaction data, a taxonomic review from multiple catalogs, and an archived version of the dataset from which the reviews are derived.
