Abstract

The code provided here was used to calculate the osmium isotope mass balance for the early Paleogene, based on seawater osmium isotope records from ODP Holes 738C, 762C, and 1215A. It is supplied as supplementary material for the article “Osmium isotope evidence for enhanced oxidative weathering of sedimentary rocks in the early Paleogene hothouse world” by Kuwahara et al. This version, revised from the previously archived code (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17850463), incorporates a Monte Carlo approach to estimate riverine Os fluxes on both long-term and Eocene hyperthermal timescales.
