Data from "frontiermetrics: an R package for characterizing deforestation frontiers"
Abstract
Description of files Manuscript examples.R R script containing the code to run the examples exhibited in the main submitted manuscript. Sub-directory "first_example" Contains 6 sub-directories for each of the study areas of the first example (Amazon, Guinea, Laos, Miombo, Sumatra, and Yucatan), containing the following files, which can be used as inputs when running the example: loss_year.tif: raster layer of forest loss (from Global Forest Watch sources). tree_cover.tif: raster layer of tree cover in year 2000 (from Global Forest Watch sources). Each sub-directory contains a directory named "outputs" with the outputs of the code, including the following files: study_area + "_dataset.RDS": An R object of class 'init_FrontierMetric'. archetypes.tif: Raster layer of frontier archetypes. archetypes.txt: Text file containing relevant information of archetypes. is_frontier.tif: Raster layer showing which pixel is a frontier and which pixel is not a frontier. onset.tif: Raster layer with the values of the metric "Onset". speed.tif: Raster layer with the values of the metric "Speed". forest_loss.tif: Raster layer with the values of the metric "Forest loss". README.txt: Text file containing relevant information of calculated metrics. Sub-directory "second_example" Contains the following file, needed to run the second example: cover_series.tif: raster layer of forest-cover time series. In addition, it contains a directory named "outputs" with the outputs of the code, including the following files: copo_dataset.RDS: An R object of class 'init_FrontierMetric'. activeness.tif: Raster layer with the values of the metric "Activeness". archetypes.tif: Raster layer of frontier archetypes. archetypes.txt: Text file containing relevant information of archetypes. baseline_forest.tif: Raster layer with the values of the metric "Baseline forest". baseline_frag.tif: Raster layer with the values of the metric "Baseline forest fragmentation". forest_left.tif: Raster layer with the values of the metric "Forest left". is_frontier.tif: Raster layer showing which pixel is a frontier and which pixel is not a frontier. README.txt: Text file containing relevant information of calculated metrics.
