Level of Awareness, Acceptance, and Perceptions of Parents on the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives of Teacher Education Program
Abstract
Abstract: This study examines the awareness, acceptance, and perception of the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (VMGO) among parents of teacher education students at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) - Gabaldon Campus. Using a quantitative survey design, this research explores parents' understanding of the university's core principles. Findings reveal that parents have limited awareness of the institutional VMGO but a slightly better grasp of program-specific aims and the university's external communication. While parents generally accept the VMGO, they question its clarity and consistency, particularly regarding how program objectives define specific student skills. Despite this, they perceive a strong alignment between the VMGO and the university's actual activities. The study emphasizes the need for enhanced communication strategies to close these gaps, recommending that the university consistently integrate VMGO discussions into parent interactions and clearly demonstrate how curriculum and activities contribute to student competencies. These insights may inform future efforts to improve stakeholder awareness and engagement.
