Abstract

We present the Global Wetland Microbiome (GWM) dataset, a comprehensive resource linking environmental metadata, community profiles, and genome-resolved metabolic traits. GWM integrates 1,962 samples across 957 distinct sampling sites, combining 129 newly sequenced field-collected samples with 1,833 public data retrieved from the NCBI Sequence Read Archive (SRA) and NGDC Genome Sequence Archive (GSA). We generated comprehensive taxonomic community profiles for all 1,962 samples. Furthermore, to achieve genome-resolved resolution, we reconstructed 5,704 high-quality, sample-specific metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) from 251 representative samples (including all field-collected samples). We further comprehensively decoded the metabolic potential of these genomes by mapping gene-level annotations to a curated set of 549 KEGG modules.
