Abstract

This paper establishes the Tier-2 structural account of the irreversible operational structure associated with intelligence within the Cognitional Mechanics (CM; Japanese: Chinou Rikigaku, 知能力学) branch of Operatiology (Japanese: Sousa Genron, 操作原論). Intelligence is taken as the reflexive operational class established in the foundational corpus; the present paper characterises one structural property of that class, namely irreversible operational extension under the Structural Control Operator W. The prior Version 1.1 account introduced the Irreversible Manifold through a matrix-mechanical correspondence and described logical phase transitions in terms of non-commutative operator products and analytic boundary modulation. That account predated the Tier-2/Tier-3 separation established in CM Version 9 and Operatiology Version 5, and its formulation depended on Tier-3 vocabulary throughout. The present paper provides the Tier-2 foundation: the Structural Control Operator W introduces a generator g_new ∈ Maps(S,S) \ O producing a strict extension of the reachable set (Irreversible Operational Extension), and the absence of any Π_G-refining reconfiguration within O fixes the system at Π_G-saturation within O, where no generator in O is capable of producing a strictly finer Π_G-partition (Teleological Void). All definitions are free of analytic vocabulary, time-dependent parameters, and matrix-mechanical representation. The prior geometric account of the Irreversible Manifold is retained as a Tier-3 analogy, with an explicit correspondence table mapping geometric vocabulary to the Tier-2 structures established here. The following code, included as Appendix C of the paper, illustrates both Tier-2 structures — Mode I fixation (Teleological Void) and strict reachable-set extension (Irreversible Operational Extension) — on two independent finite proxy models. from collections import defaultdict # The two finite proxy models below are independent. def operational_partition(states, ops): cls_id = {s: 0 for s in states} while True: key = {s: (cls_id[s], tuple(cls_id[op[s]] for op in ops)) for s in states} sig_to_cls = {}; new_id = {}; ctr = 0 for s in states: k = key[s] if k not in sig_to_cls: sig_to_cls[k] = ctr; ctr += 1 new_id[s] = sig_to_cls[k] if new_id == cls_id: break cls_id = new_id part = defaultdict(list) for s, c in cls_id.items(): part[c].append(s) return frozenset(frozenset(v) for v in part.values()) def reachable_set(s0, ops, states): reached = {s0} frontier = {s0} while frontier: new = set() for s in frontier: for op in ops: t = op[s] if t not in reached: reached.add(t) new.add(t) frontier = new return reached states = list(range(6)) # --- Model 1: Teleological Void --- A_void = {0:1, 1:2, 2:0, 3:4, 4:5, 5:3} B_void = {0:2, 1:0, 2:1, 3:5, 4:3, 5:4} G_ref_void = [A_void, B_void] part_void = operational_partition(states, G_ref_void) g_test = {0:3, 1:4, 2:5, 3:0, 4:1, 5:2} part_test = operational_partition(states, G_ref_void + [g_test]) print("=== Model 1: Teleological Void (Global Isotropy analogy) ===") print(f"Pi_G_ref classes: {len(part_void)}") print(f"After g_test: {len(part_test)} classes") print(f"No Pi_G-refining extension within O: {part_test == part_void}") # --- Model 2: Irreversible Operational Extension --- s0 = 0 A_ioe = {0:1, 1:2, 2:0, 3:3, 4:4, 5:5} B_ioe = {0:2, 1:0, 2:1, 3:3, 4:4, 5:5} G_ref_ioe = [A_ioe, B_ioe] R_ref = reachable_set(s0, G_ref_ioe, states) I_ref = set(states) - R_ref g_new = {0:3, 1:4, 2:5, 3:0, 4:1, 5:2} G_prime = G_ref_ioe + [g_new] R_prime = reachable_set(s0, G_prime, states) new_reached = sorted(R_prime & I_ref) print("\n=== Model 2: Irreversible Operational Extension ===") print(f"R_G_ref from s0={s0}: {sorted(R_ref)}") print(f"I_G_ref: {sorted(I_ref)}") print(f"R_G' after g_new: {sorted(R_prime)}") print(f"States newly reachable: {new_reached}") print(f"Strict reachable-set extension: {R_ref < R_prime}") for s_star in new_reached: print(f"s*={s_star} not in R_G_ref " f"(Generator-Relative Irreversibility): {s_star not in R_ref}")
