The Grand Unification: A Single-Axiom Derivation of 275 Physical Observables from Maximum Entropy Production
Abstract
We present a framework for fundamental physics derived from a single axiom: Maximum Entropy Production (MEP). No geometric input is assumed. Via Perelman's entropy-monotonic Ricci flow, MEP uniquely selects the round three-sphere S³ ≅ SU(2) as the spatial micro-geometry. The topological action quantum S_cell = π²/2 is over-determined by three independent routes (MaxCal, meron action, Selberg trace), generating the universal Boltzmann weight α₀ = e^{−π²/2} ≈ 7.19 × 10⁻³. The Standard Model gauge group SU(3)_c × SU(2)_L × U(1)_Y emerges from Hurwitz–Cartan octonion completion; all alternatives are excluded by explicit obstructions. From this single axiom plus one geometric postulate (configuration space = Riemannian metrics), the framework derives 275 physical observables — gauge couplings, fermion masses, mixing matrices, cosmological parameters, hadronic and nuclear properties — with zero continuous free parameters. The hard core (~80 statistically independent predictions) yields a median deviation of ~0.4% after standard NLO radiative corrections. Key results include: Fine-structure constant: α⁻¹ = e^{π²/2} − 2 + 1/55 = 137.064 (0.02%) Cosmological constant: ρ_Λ = M_Pl⁴ · e^{−28π²} ≈ 10⁻¹²² (0.08 dex on 120 orders) Cabibbo angle: λ = 1/√(2π²) = 0.22508 (0.04%) Higgs mass: m_H = 125.15 GeV (0.08%) Proton mass: m_p = 937.9 MeV (0.04%) Hubble tension: H₀_loc/H₀_CMB = 1 + √α₀ = 1.0848 (0.05%) Matter fraction: Ω_m = (3/10)(1 + 7α₀) = 0.3151 (0.03%) Structural extensions cover baryogenesis, BBN, inflation, hadronic spectroscopy, nuclear magic numbers, superconductivity, the Casimir effect, the Immirzi parameter, and the Standard Genetic Code. The Born rule follows from Gleason's theorem on the finite-dimensional Osterwalder–Schrader reconstructed Hilbert space (N = 55 modes). Under a conservative statistical analysis with correlation clustering (~20 effective independent predictions), the probability of chance agreement is p < 10⁻⁷. This extended manuscript (v3, NNLO) supersedes all previous versions and includes full appendices with detailed proofs, prediction tables, falsifiable experimental wagers, and spectral dynamics (propagators, cross-sections, form factors). Keywords: maximum entropy production, grand unification, Standard Model, zero-parameter framework, Ricci flow, octonions, spectral geometry, cosmological constant, Hubble tension, fermion masses
