Abstract

Lexels: Specification & Constraint Ledger for Field Circuitry defines the semantic governance backbone of the Field Circuitry corpus — a systems-engineering framework for understanding how meaning, legitimacy, pressure, and institutional behavior stabilize or fail under load. This artifact functions as a constraint ledger and specification document, preserving conceptual stability across implementations, versions, and institutional contexts. It documents core terms, lifecycle states, dependencies, architectural anchors, boundary conditions, and interpretive failure modes, enabling Field Circuitry to behave as an engineered field rather than metaphor or discourse. The document formalizes operational definitions for key constructs such as socio-affective governance, governance vacuum, institutional metabolism, meaning architecture, interpretive authority, load geometry, narrative coolant, and refusal-as-first-class action. It additionally establishes kernel governance principles, integrity protections, kill-switch logic, simulation architectures, and participation constraints to prevent drift, extraction, and institutional misrepresentation. Rather than advocating ideology, Lexels acts as semantic bookkeeping infrastructure, ensuring reliability, lineage, and constraint discipline in sociotechnical governance research and practice.
