Abstract

Short Note on the Status of (\phi)-Power Scaling and the Kerr Coherence Corridor This note revises the interpretation of the (\phi)-power pattern reported in rotationally coherent systems, especially Kerr black hole geometry. The more careful statement is not that the golden ratio (\phi), (\sqrt e), or (e/\phi) are fundamental physical constants, nor that Kerr black holes are governed by a universal (\phi)-law. Rather, these values may serve as dimensionless coordinates within a relational map of rotational coherence. In the Kerr setting, the ratio [R=\frac{r_{\mathrm{ISCO}}}{r_+}] provides a coordinate-independent way to compare the innermost stable circular orbit with the event horizon. At high spin, near (a/M \approx 0.9), this ratio comes close to [R \approx \phi.] This numerical fact is meaningful as a geometric landmark, but it should not be overread as a new law of gravity. Since the higher powers (R^n) automatically remain close to (\phi^n) when (R) is close to (\phi), the apparent (\phi)-power hierarchy is not independent evidence at each exponent. The secure observation is the base ratio (R \approx \phi); the powers are derived consequences of that ratio. The spin-space corridor [a/M \in [0.872,0.899]] can therefore be understood as the Kerr spin interval where the ratio (r_{\mathrm{ISCO}}/r_+) passes through nearby reference values such as [\phi,\quad \sqrt e,\quad \frac{e}{\phi}.] These constants should be treated as markers on the coordinate axis, not as causes of the physical behavior. They help organize the geometry, but do not by themselves establish a dynamical selection principle. The strongest structural result remains the partition-manifold derivation in which (\phi) appears as the solution of [\chi^2+\chi-1=0,] giving [R_{\mathrm{man}}=\phi.] That result is algebraic within the partition framework. Its comparison with Kerr geometry is a structural correspondence, not a derivation from general relativity. Thus the mature claim is: [\phi,\quad \sqrt e,\quad \frac{e}{\phi}] may function as useful dimensionless coordinates for comparing rotational coherence regimes. The mature claim is not that these numbers are universal constants of nature. This interpretation preserves the value of the Kerr observation while removing the overclaim. The constants can guide classification, motivate tests, and suggest where to look for structure in black hole spin data, but their physical status must be established separately through independent dynamical derivation or population-level evidence.
