AION-CORE: A Physics-Anchored Anticipatory Control Kernel for High-Beta Tokamak Plasmas
Abstract
AION-CORE is a deterministic control kernel designed for the stabilization of Vertical Displacement Events (VDEs) in high-beta tokamak plasmas. Unlike traditional PID controllers, AION utilizes the PACC (Physics-Aware Adaptive Control) paradigm to preemptively act upon physical precursors within the microsecond regime. Key Features: COOK Framework: A dual-loop architecture separating reflex safety actions from cognitive adaptations. Guardian Gain: A nonlinear control law that stiffens magnetic coils exponentially as plasma velocity approaches safety margins. Validation: Tested via stochastic simulation against VDEs with growth rates of approx. 2800 rad/s. Important Notice: This project utilizes Large Language Models (LLMs) as a technical co-pilot. While the architectural concepts are original to the author, implementation details rely on AI synthesis. This is a Proof-of-Concept (TRL 4) and has not been validated on physical hardware.
