THE INCARNATE REVOLUTION
Abstract
The Council of Nicaea’s legacy, defined by homoousios, established Christ’s full divinity. Yet what continues to astonish us is not only this doctrinal triumph but the scandalous nearness of God in flesh—the Word becoming vulnerable, contingent humanity. Beyond the homoousios lies the offence of God’s self-emptying presence, which dismantles hierarchies of power and summons the Church to a ‘enfleshed Catholicity,’ where theology turns from triumph to service, from distance to encounter.
