Abstract

SECTION ZERO: MINIMAL SECIENTIFIC VALIDATION FRAMEWORK SUMMARY Section Zero is a meta-framework requiring every research to declare: (1) where it applies, (2) when it will be falsified, and (3) how to handle objections. Section Zero itself complies with Section Zero: valid from December 30, 2025 until a better meta-framework emerges, with clear falsification conditions based on Universal(E). Section Zero is designed to be machine-readable and comparable across research papers, enabling consistency checks, trust aggregation, and longitudinal tracking of validity domains over time. THE FRAMEWORK Section Zero requires every research to declare: 1. VALIDITY DOMAIN - Where does this research apply? - When? t ∈ [t_pub, t_next) 2. FALSIFICATION CONDITIONS - What phenomenon would falsify this research? - Universal(E) with 4 criteria 3. DECISION TREE - How to handle objections objectively - Distinguish: criticism vs refutation SECTION ZERO APPLIED TO ITSELF 0.1: VALIDITY DOMAIN DECLARATION Section Zero framework is valid when: - Spatial domain:All basic and applied sciences - Temporal domain: t ∈ [December 30, 2025, t_next) - Conditions: Research requires clear validation standards t_next is triggered when: A better meta-framework emerges that solves the validation problem more effectively than Section Zero. 0.2: FALSIFICATION CONDITIONS Section Zero is falsified/replaced when phenomenon E_new satisfies all 4 conditions: (1) System-independent: E_new appears in multiple different fields (physics, biology, social sciences...) (2) Multi-scale: E_new occurs at multiple research scales (individual, lab, institution, national...) (3) Non-absorbable: Cannot explain E_new by extending/modifying Section Zero without changing the 4 Universal(E) criteria (4) Contradicts axioms: E_new proves that one of the 4 Universal(E) criteria is insufficient for determining falsification Examples of E_new that could falsify Section Zero: - Discovery that scientific theories don't need falsification to be valid - Proof that 4 Universal(E) criteria are insufficient/redundant - Finding a simpler yet more complete meta-framework 0.3: AXIOMS DECLARATION Section Zero is based on the following axioms: 1. Every scientific theory has finite validity domain 2. Falsification can be formalized using logic 3. Universal(E) with 4 conditions is necessary and sufficient 4. Science progresses through theory replacement Note: Section Zero is a normative governance framework, not a descriptive account of current scientific practice. 0.4: OBJECTION HANDLING For each objection E_new against Section Zero, check: (1) Is E_new system-independent? → Does it appear in multiple different fields? (2) Is E_new multi-scale? → Does it replicate at different scales? (3) Is E_new non-absorbable? → Cannot be fixed by minor modifications to Section Zero? (4) Does E_new contradict axioms? → Does it refute one of the 5 axioms above? If all 4 = YES: → t_next triggered! → Section Zero needs replacement by new framework If < 4: → This is criticism, not refutation → Can improve Section Zero without replacement Note: Intentional misuse of Section Zero—such as manipulating trust scores, evading substantive rebuttal, or misleading the review process—is considered an abuse of the framework and falls outside the scope of protection of Section Zero. 0.5: CRITICISM VS REFUTATION CRITICISM (does NOT trigger t_next): - "Section Zero should include more examples" - "Decision tree needs more detail" - "Should have English version" → Can be addressed with version updates REFUTATION (triggers t_next if satisfies 4 conditions): - "Proof that valid theories exist without being falsifiable" - "4 Universal(E) criteria are incomplete, missing condition X" - "Framework Y is simpler yet more complete" → If satisfies 4 conditions → trigger t_next! 0.6: UPDATE COMMITMENT When E_new satisfies Universal(E): 1. Publicly announce t_next 2. Explain clearly why E_new satisfies all 4 conditions 3. If new framework exists → provide transition guide 4. If not yet → open discussion for development 5.
