FORMULATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NANOEMULSION FROM CINNAMON BARK ESSENTIAL OIL (CINNAMOMUM BURMANII)
Abstract
Nanoemulsions have advantages over similar emulsions that have larger sizes, including being more reactive. Cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmanii) essential oil nanoemulsions were formulated using the spontaneous emulsification method with Tween 80 surfactant and PEG 400 cosurfactant. Cinnamon bark essential oil nanoemulsions were characterized using PSA, FTIR, and TEM. The results showed that the nanoemulsion had a particle size of 9.76–12.92 nm with a PDI value
