Scripts for "Drivers of Winter Arctic Sea Ice Variability"
Abstract
The code implements the full analysis workflow used in the manuscript, including Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) between global sea surface temperatures and Arctic fields, composite difference mapping, Convergent Cross Mapping (CCM), time-delay CCM (TDCCM), and Information Flow (IF) causality analysis. The repository is intended to support transparency and reproducibility of the results presented in the paper. All scripts are provided as used in the study and reproduce the figures shown in the main text and supplementary material, subject to local data availability. Main components: CCA between global SST and Arctic SIC, surface air temperature, and sea-level pressure CCM and TDCCM applied to both time series and gridded fields Composite, IF and CCM causality analysis linking Arctic variability to European heat extremes Input datasets (e.g. ERA5 Reanalysis, SST products) are publicly available but not redistributed here due to size and licensing constraints.
