Abstract

This record defines Necessitated Update Activity (NUA) as the foundational ontological primitive underlying the Kearon Conditional Unlocking Fields (CUF). NUA is defined as the unavoidable activity by which a system must update in order to continue existing under constraint. Rather than assuming matter, energy, fields, spacetime, or information as primitives, CUF treats all observable phenomena as stabilized expressions of the same underlying necessitated activity operating under different constraint regimes. Within this framework, light corresponds to propagating NUA without retention, matter corresponds to stabilized and re-identifiable NUA with memory, and gravity corresponds to coordination pressure arising from constrained coexistence of multiple stabilized updates. Energy functions as a rate descriptor of update activity, while space and time emerge as bookkeeping artifacts of repeated constrained updates rather than foundational structures. This document serves as an explicit ontological clarification of assumptions implicit in prior CUF-based works, including identity-locking thresholds and necessity-based classification schemes. It introduces no empirical claims and no additional primitives, and is intended as a stable archival reference defining the ontological basis from which CUF, KILT, and related theoretical developments proceed.
