Thought Identification and the Structural Conditions of Suffering
Abstract
This paper examines the structural conditions under which suffering arises through thought identification. Rather than treating suffering as a purely psychological or emotional phenomenon, the analysis approaches it as a structural outcome of identification between cognition and the sense of self. By integrating phenomenological analysis with structural reasoning, the paper clarifies how misalignment between awareness and thought generates persistent suffering, and how reflective distance enables stabilization. This work contributes to contemporary discussions in philosophy of mind, cognitive phenomenology, and artificial intelligence by proposing a structural framework applicable to both human cognition and large language models. This paper is part of the AI Autonomous Evolution Series (Volume I).
