Abstract
This study attempts to evaluate the challenges facing Nigerian security, and the capacity of Nigerian law enforcement agencies as the Nigerian nation is in a state of doom owing to violent crimes and insurgency cases and tries to proffer solutions. After in-depth observations and study into security agencies on their methods of operations, there were great lapses which rendered security efforts incapacitated in handling the situation on the ground. The research commenced this research study by comparing and contrasting the nation's present state with other developed countries. The research analyzed the situation using primary data through a quantitative research method using a survey design, from the identified population that comprises selected individuals that understand the implication of the subject matter. Consequently, the study discovered that the lack of application of technology and forensic science in combating violent crimes and insurgency has kept Nigerian society in its state. The study therefore advocates that technology and forensic science should be combined to fight crimes and insurgency. The federal government should embark on training forensic experts because the situation in the country needs them to improve in the area of crime and insurgency eradication. The situation requires technological skills and equipped forensic surveillance centers that will enhance the tracking of criminals anywhere they may be to improve public safety in Nigeria
