THE JAZZ AGE AND MAJOR THEMES IN F. SCOTT FITZGERALD'S WORKS
Abstract
The relevance of studying the Jazz Age in relation to Fitzgerald’s works lies in understanding how historical and cultural contexts shape literary themes. Fitzgerald’s novels and short stories not only portray the external features of the era—such as wealth, parties, and luxury—but also explore deeper psychological and moral issues. This thesis aims to analyze the Jazz Age as a cultural phenomenon and examine the major themes present in Fitzgerald’s works, including the American Dream, wealth and class division, moral decay, and the conflict between illusion and reality.
