Abstract

ʻOumuamua ( 1I/2017 ) displayed various anomalies that did not match the known comets or asteroids ; extreme aspect ratio, non-gravitational acceleration without a visible coma, chaotic tumbling, neutral reflectance, and Local Standard of Rest (LSR) velocity. The Exotic Fracture Object (EFO) Theory proposes that ʻOumuamua is a thin, volatile-depleted shard produced in a violent stellar event (such as tidal disruption, supernova shock fragmentation, or hypervelocity collision). EFOs naturally possess the physical properties needed to conclude all anomalies of ʻOumuamua without invoking exotic physics or an artificial origin. This theory provides a simple and physically consistent category for a new class of interstellar debris. This classification introduces a new category of interstellar debris different from comets and asteroids. • It is a thin, irregular shard of solid material created in violent stellar or planetary-scale event. Drifting through interstellar space for millions of years . • Although the formation event is extremely violent, only a small fraction of fragments survive, but those that do are ejected in interstellar space at high speed and can persist for millions of years in interstellar space.
