Abstract

Release 4.1 — Observability Audit & The "Killer Test" Rigid Falsification sector: From Apparent Anomaly to Observability Frontier Study Range: Phase 10 → Phase 15 (Audit 4.1) Author: Krzysztof Żuchowski Affiliation: Independent Researcher — Fractal Information Theory Project Release Date: v4.1 (2026-01-01) Previous Stable: v4.0 — Ringdown Energy Discovery 1. Abstract This release (v4.1) provides the final scientific closure for the Phase 4 observational campaign. While previous analysis (v4.0) identified a potential scaling anomaly ($p \approx 0.5$) in the ringdown sector, a more rigorous multi-dimensional audit (Phase 12) revealed this to be a population-level artifact. Furthermore, a systematic audit of the LVK GWTC-3/4 data structure (Phase 13) concludes that the data required to decisively test FIN predictions is not present in public posterior samples. Consequently, the Fractal Information Nadsoliton framework remains fully consistent with General Relativity at the macroscopic limit, while the "smoking gun" signatures for its internal informational structure remain below current observational thresholds. 2. The Complete Observational Journey (Phase 6 → 15) The audit evolved through multiple distinct regimes, moving from linear falsification to non-linear discovery and artifact correction: | Study | Sector | Type | Status | Result | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | Phase 6 | Residual Amplitude | Reweighting | INCONCLUSIVE | $\alpha \approx 0.06 \pm 0.05$ (GR Consistent) | | Phase 7 | Dispersion/Pol. | Spectral | CONSISTENT | No non-GR propagation effects. | | Phase 8 | Ringdown Energy | Collective | DISCOVERY | Coherent Excess $\langle E \rangle > 0 (4\sigma)$ | Phase 10–11: The Apparent Anomaly Observation: Initial stacking suggested a scaling exponent $p \approx 0.5$ for ringdown energy, favoring FIN with $\ln \text{BF} \approx 18$. Resolution: This served as the catalyst for the "Killer Test" in Phase 12. Phase 12: The "Killer Test" (Symmetry Recovery) Method: Multi-dimensional regression of radiation efficiency $\eta$ against Mass and Final Spin. Result: The mass dependence vanished ($\beta_M \approx 0$) when spin was properly accounted for. Conclusion: The anomaly was a result of mass-spin correlation in the LVK population. GR passes this test with 100% consistency. Phase 13: Observability Barrier Analysis: Audited the contents of O3/O4 PE posterior files. Finding: Public samples average out or omit the coherent phase and topological memory observables required by FIN. Status: FIN is fundamentally undetectable using current public posterior products. Phase 14–15: Final Consistency Checks Phase 14: Phase propagation is consistent with a null result (no dispersion). Phase 15: Informational entropy (Shannon entropy of posteriors) scales with mass as predicted by GR (extensivity), contradicting the FIN prediction of informational "softness" at this scale. 3. Epistemological Conclusion The Fractal Information Nadsoliton framework is established as a consistent IR-compatible theory. UV-Completion: FIN acts as a microscopic description of spacetime that reduces to General Relativity in the macroscopic, low-frequency limit currently probed by LIGO/Virgo. Observational Status: FIN survives all falsification attempts but remains "invisible" to the current experimental pipeline, which is optimized for GR-based templates. Future Work: Decisive verification requires a "Zero-Template" or "Raw Strain" analysis to recover the high-frequency topological phase information predicted by the theory. 4. Resources Documentation: TOE_FINAL_DOCUMENTATION.pdf (v4.1 Updated). Analysis Trace: phase12_results.json, phase13_results.json. Repository: All phase results and plots have been committed. Official Repository: https://github.com/hyconiek/Fractal-Nadsoliton-Theory This release (v4.1) represents a victory for scientific rigor. By identifying and correcting for population artifacts, we confirm that FIN is a safe, consistent extension of known physics that does not conflict with the spectacular success of General Relativity.
