Abstract

This work presents an interdisciplinary and phenomenological theoretical framework exploring the interaction between scalar-tensor extensions of gravity and biophysical processes. Building on scalar dynamics within the Horndeski formalism, the model introduces an effective scalar field coupled disformally to spacetime geometry, leading to a modulated effective proper time for coupled systems. The framework investigates scale-dependent effects ranging from cosmological phenomena—such as potential contributions to the Hubble tension—to localized biophysical processes, including quantum decoherence and molecular stability. While speculative in nature, the work proposes mathematically consistent structures, outlines potential experimental pathways, and clearly distinguishes effective phenomenology from fundamental ontology. This study is conceptually grounded in the Ronaldo Piloto Theory of the Temporal Field (TCT), which postulates time as a physical substrate corresponding to the total mass of cosmic energy, while focusing here on an effective scalar representation suitable for localized and process-dependent analysis
