Resolving the vacuum energy density mismatch using a scale-invariant elastic lattice dynamics approach
Abstract
This paper presents a novel derivation of the vacuum energy density, providing a definitive resolution to the “120 orders of magnitude” discrepancy between quantum field theory predictions and cosmological observations. In this approach, we treat space as a discrete elastic medium (a dynamic lattice) with a fundamental cell size of the Planck length. We demonstrate that the observed vacuum energy density is not a sum of zero-point fluctuations but a macroscopic manifestation of the lattice tension distributed across the cosmic boundary. This result provides a physical derivation of the holographic principle, showing that the energy density of the 3D spatial bulk is strictly determined by the 2D scaling of the lattice tension at the causal horizon.
