Abstract

This repository contains a preprint presenting a phenomenological effective model of late-time cosmological acceleration. The work explores the possibility that the observed accelerated expansion of the Universe may arise as an apparent effect of observational reconstruction and coarse-graining, rather than from a fundamentally accelerated cosmic dynamics. The model assumes a discrete underlying evolution without intrinsic acceleration and focuses on how finite temporal and observational resolution can modify the reconstructed macroscopic behavior. An effective observational resolution function is introduced to parametrize this reconstruction. Under minimal and scale-free assumptions, its infrared behavior leads to a logarithmic correction, producing an effective acceleration at late times. The framework is explicitly non-fundamental: it does not propose a theory of quantum gravity, does not modify General Relativity, and does not introduce new physical fields or degrees of freedom. It is intended as an effective phenomenological description applicable to the late Universe (z ≲ 2). This version is provided as a preprint and is intended for subsequent submission to a peer-reviewed journal.
