Triggering the System's Immune Response: Stylometric Publishing, Algorithmic Governance, and the Structural Silencing of Minority Voices
Abstract
This manuscript examines how digital platforms function as visibility‑governing infrastructures that disproportionately suppress non‑normative and minority expression. It introduces stylometric publishing as a diagnostic method for revealing algorithmic reflexes triggered by linguistic deviation, and it develops the concepts of timestamps and drift logs to document suppression events, filtration patterns, and systemic drift across platforms. Drawing on research in algorithmic bias, content moderation, and digital inequality, the paper argues that these reactions constitute a structural “immune response” rather than intentional censorship. By mapping how platforms misclassify, down‑rank, or obscure content that falls outside normative linguistic expectations, the manuscript demonstrates how digital architectures reproduce epistemic inequality and incentivize conformity. The work contributes to emerging scholarship on digital immunology and infrastructural governance, offering creators and researchers a framework for analyzing the lived experience of suppression within contemporary publishing systems. This essay is part of the SignalRupture canon, a body of work examining contemporary systems, infrastructures, and social dynamics through a conceptual and diagnostic lens. Each piece contributes to an ongoing analysis of structural stress, digital environments, governance patterns, and the evolving relationship between individuals and large‑scale systems. The work combines theoretical reflection with infrastructural observation, offering frameworks for understanding systemic erosion, cultural shifts, and emerging forms of social complexity.
