Foundational Framework for Role-Based Identity Shift: An Applied Model for Identity Transformation Through Behavioral Enactment
Abstract
Role-Based Identity Shift (RBIS) is an applied behavioral science discipline that treats identity not as a personality trait, but as a system that can be intentionally engineered. Most approaches to personal change rely on motivation, insight, or emotional breakthroughs. RBIS is built on a different assumption:People do not change because they understand — they change because they repeatedly perform a new role until it becomes their default operating system. RBIS integrates acting methodology, performance psychology, and cognitive-behavioral science to model identity transformation as a process of structured role enactment. Identity is defined here as a dynamic performative system governed by learned scripts, neuro-behavioral feedback loops, and environmental reinforcement — not a static psychological profile. This discipline proposes that sustainable change is not achieved through willpower, but through architecture:through designed rehearsal cycles, embodiment protocols, and narrative reconstruction processes that reshape the behavioral identity layer from the inside out. The founding applied protocol of the RBIS discipline is designated as Neuro Recast™ — a structured 28-day role-engineering system that operationalizes identity change through repeatable enactment rather than motivational intervention. This publication serves as the canonical disciplinary anchor for RBIS and establishes the theoretical foundation for future clinical, educational, and applied research within the field.
