Plataform as a Service driven for success
Abstract
“Plataform as a Service driven for success” Aline C G Leandro, candidate of Master incomplete, University of State of Rio of Janeiro JEL classification E32 O33 O41 E22 L86 Abstract This paper examines the role of technological progress mediated by digital platforms (Platform as a Service – PaaS) in economic growth dynamics and business cycle fluctuations, within the Real Business Cycle (RBC) framework. It argues that in technology-intensive economies, technical progress ceases to be a purely exogenous shock and becomes partially internalized through scalable digital infrastructures, such as Google Studio and Google Colab, which lower entry costs, accelerate innovation, and enhance total factor productivity. The analysis suggests that these platforms function as amplification and persistence mechanisms for technological shocks, affecting investment, market valuation, and long-run growth. The study contributes to the literature by offering a modern interpretation of the RBC model consistent with innovation-driven economies and computational capital accumulation. Keywords: Real Business Cycles; Technological Progress; Theory of Growth; Digital Platforms (PaaS)
