Geometric Base Spaces for Number System Fiber Bundles: A Comparative Analysis of Seven Models with Constant Width Curves
Abstract
We present a comprehensive analysis of seven distinct geometric base spaces for constructing fiber bundles of number systems the two sphere S two, hyperbolic plane H two, real projective plane RP two, cylinder S one times R, torus T two, Euclidean space R n, and the Hopf fibration S three. Each base space provides unique organizational principles for categorizing ordered topological fields with distinct algebraic properties. We systematically compare topological invariants including compactness, fundamental group, and curvature, duality structures, symmetry groups, and capacity for embedding non isomorphic fibers. Furthermore, we introduce a novel connection to constant width curves including Reuleaux triangles and polygons, demonstrating how these geometric objects provide alternative parametrization schemes with practical applications in mechanical systems and computational geometry. The analysis reveals fundamental trade offs compact spaces provide global coherence but limited asymptotic structure, while non compact spaces allow hierarchical organization at the cost of boundary conditions. We demonstrate that the choice of base space encodes deep mathematical philosophy about the nature of arithmetic systems whether they form a closed symmetric universe the sphere, an infinite hierarchical cosmos the hyperbolic space, or a periodic lattice the torus. This work establishes a geometric framework for mathematical pluralism and provides foundations for applications in quantum measurement theory and computational arithmetic.
