Abstract

Albert Einstein famously used thought experiments—such as imagining himself ridingalongside a beam of light—to reveal deep truths about time and motion. In this paper, weextend that same intuitive method to explain a core idea of the SP3 field framework: thatspace itself can be saturated by matter and can retain memory of past interactions. Bymentally riding two different light beams across the universe—one through pristine spaceand one through heavily worked space—we show, in layman’s terms, how identical lightcan experience different effective paths without ever changing its speed. This simplepicture provides intuitive grounding for phenomena such as gravitational lensing, delayedarrivals, and path-dependent redshift, while remaining accessible to non-specialists.
