Abstract

Episodic accretion events in young stellar systems have emerged to be the Gatekeeper of stellar mass assembly. It also has profound influence on the planet formation at inner disc. Since we still lack technology to spatially resolved innermost regions of the protoplanetary discs, variability study is our best tool on the belt to understand this enigmatic region. In this review talk, I shall outline how the variability studies of protopanetary systems are shaping our understanding of star and planet formation.Episodic accretion events in young stellar systems have emerged to be the Gatekeeper of stellar mass assembly.
