Abstract

The groundbreaking e-commerce technologies have changed in a major way the distribution and consumption of educational materials. This paper illustrates a case study on NoteFolio, an educational electronics trade platform created with students in mind to offer affordable and curriculum- aligned digital notes and study resources. The system enables students not only to have access to academic content created by the peer group but also to make money from it, thereby establishing itself as a cheap substitute to the traditional publishing channels. Employing a descriptive and analytical method grounded on secondary research, this paper delves into the structural framework, comparative advantages, and educational implications of NoteFolio in the ed-commerce ecosystem. The results reveal that peer-driven marketplaces have the potential to democratize access to knowledge, initiate the academic micro-entrepreneurship, and enhance the digital literacy skills of learners. The research infers that these kinds of platforms are at the core of the academic supply chain, thus they are instrumental in creating a more inclusive and accessible higher education.
