Physiological and Technical Correlates of Performance in Pistol Shooters: A Training–Competition Comparison
Abstract
his study investigates the physiological and technical correlates of performance in competitive pistol shooters by comparing training and competition conditions. Physiological parameters including heart rate (HR), blood pressure (BP), and peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO₂) were recorded alongside technical performance indicators derived from electronic training systems. The analysis examines how autonomic response, stress, and technical stability differ between controlled training environments and high-pressure competition settings. Results highlight significant variations in cardiovascular responses and trigger-aiming coordination during competition, offering practical implications for performance monitoring, training periodization, and pre-competition preparation in precision shooting sports.
