Positioning vs Prior Art Structural Coherence Architectures Distinct from Event-Driven and Learning-Based Systems
Abstract
This work positions an axiomatic framework for coherence-preserving adaptive systems relative to existing prior art in adaptive control, learning-based architectures, event-triggered regulation, and cognitive systems. Unlike conventional approaches based on error signals, novelty detection, or parameterized learning, the framework formalizes coherent structural closure, residual-driven reactivation, inevitable drift, internal time as a viability bound, and directionality as a primary ontological operator. The document clarifies why these principles define a distinct architectural class rather than an incremental extension of existing systems. This note serves as a formal positioning reference for the PETRONUS framework and related coherence-based architectures.
