A Finite-Resolution Locking of the Fine-Structure Constant: Deterministic, Non-Fitted Determination from Minimal Update Rules
Abstract
【Important notice: current formulation is FDC】 This record belongs to an earlier stage of the Alpha Locking / IIM development. It is preserved as a record of the research process and priority, but it is not the recommended entry point for the current theory. The current formal framework is Finite Distinguishability Closure (FDC). FDC reorganizes the earlier Alpha Locking / IIM ideas into a more explicit finite structural closure program, with clearer separation between conceptual motivation, admissibility conditions, closure arguments, and numerical readout. For the current formulation, please refer to: Finite Distinguishability Closure (FDC) DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19981961 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This record updates and supersedes the previous v2 release. The main paper presents a deterministic, non-fitted selection mechanism for the fine-structure constant based on finite-resolution update rules. The supplementary material provides the complete axiomatic specification, enumeration procedure, acceptance predicate, and algorithmic reproducibility. In this revision, the locking decision is explicitly defined by a discrete acceptance predicate depending only on finite differences Δ(m).An additive reference origin α0^{-1} is used solely to report the absolute value of α^{-1} and does not enter the locking predicate. No experimental input, parameter fitting, or continuous tuning is used. This update clarifies and fully closes the logical specification (effectively a v3 clarification of the v2 framework).
