ADVANCES IN MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY IN HUMAN DISEASES
Abstract
This book presents a compelling collection of scientific studies that explore critical areas in biomedical research. From infectious diseases to cancer therapy, gut health, and medicinal plant analysis, each chapter offers a focused investigation into pressing health challenges and innovative solutions. The first chapter examines the molecular identification of Plasmodium falciparum in malaria-positive patients across hospitals in Kaduna Metropolis. This study emphasizes the importance of molecular tools in disease surveillance and the fight against malaria in endemic regions. In the second and third chapters, the spotlight shifts to cancer immunotherapy and inflammatory bowel disease. The former highlights the promise of harnessing the immune system in oncology, while the latter explores how gut microbiota imbalances contribute to chronic inflammation and how nutrition can play a therapeutic role. The final chapter investigates the antioxidant and antibacterial properties of Plumeria pudica bark, using HPTLC profiling to uncover its phytochemical potential. Together, these chapters reflect the diversity and depth of modern biomedical inquiry, offering insights that bridge laboratory research and clinical relevance.
