Abstract

This article examines the role of close-range photogrammetry (CRP) in structural health monitoring (SHM) as a modern, cost-effective, and non-invasive method for deformation analysis. CRP enables precise 3D modeling of buildings and engineering structures using digital images combined with Structure-from-Motion and Dense Image Matching techniques. Comparative results with GNSS and terrestrial laser scanning demonstrate millimeter-level accuracy. Case studies on bridges and heritage structures prove its practical value. Prospects for integration with BIM, GIS, and AI are also discussed.
