Abstract

We propose a new interpretation of quantum mechanics — the Kyiv Interpretation (KI) — emerging naturally from the ontology of the Temporal Theory of the Universe (TTU). In contrast to the Copenhagen Interpretation, which treats the wavefunction as an epistemic tool and assigns a privileged role to the observer, the Kyiv Interpretation is built upon temporal realism: time is a fundamental physical field, and quantum states are real dynamical configurations of this field within an extended manifold featuring an additional cyclic temporal dimension (hyper-time). Within the KI framework, the wavefunction $\psi$ is interpreted as a temporal resonance mode of the fundamental time-field $\tau$ in hyper-time $\Theta$. Quantum probabilities arise as effective projections of deterministic dynamics from the extended temporal manifold onto 4D spacetime. Measurement is described not as a wavefunction collapse, but as phase synchronization (resonant locking) between interacting temporal structures. This framework resolves long-standing conceptual paradoxes of quantum mechanics — including the measurement problem, Schrödinger’s cat, and EPR correlations — without modifying the existing mathematical formalism. The Kyiv Interpretation provides a constructive continuation of Einstein’s realism, offering the concrete physical mechanism that was missing in earlier deterministic critiques. By restoring causality and ontological clarity, KI demonstrates that quantum mechanics is not a calculus of uncertainty, but the non-linear acoustics of time itself. The Kyiv Interpretation continues the methodological tradition of the Kyiv school of nonlinear dynamics (Bogolyubov, Krylov), extending its deterministic and resonance-based worldview from classical and statistical systems to the fundamental ontology of quantum mechanics and time itself. Keywords: quantum mechanics, interpretation of quantum theory, temporal realism, deterministic dynamics, wavefunction ontology, hyper-time, Kyiv Interpretation
