What Space Really Is
Abstract
This work explores a medium-based interpretation of physical reality, proposing that space is not empty but a continuous physical medium whose oscillatory and equilibrium-seeking behavior gives rise to gravity, light, matter, time, and motion. The paper does not introduce new equations or modify established empirical laws. Instead, it offers a conceptual framework—Spatial Equilibrium Theory (SET)—that reframes familiar phenomena as natural consequences of spatial reconfiguration and equilibrium dynamics. By treating gravity as spatial collapse, light as oscillation of the medium, matter as stabilized standing waves, time as oscillatory cycle count, and motion as displacement arising from spatial reorganization, the work aims to provide a physically intuitive and internally coherent interpretation of observed behavior across scales. This record is part of the Cosmic Code research series and serves as a conceptual foundation for related papers and future volumes.
